How do I Block Emails from LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is a social network for professionals, helping you connect with other people in your industry. It's often used as a recruiting or networking tool to help you further your career in some way, or if you're a recruiter for a company, then you probably use it to look for potential candidates to hire.

Unfortunately LinkedIn is one of the worst social networks in terms of spam mail. Often times they'll send you emails to join LinkedIn, connect with someone you might know, congratulate someone on their work anniversary, read a post published by someone you're connected with, and many more. You might even get emails telling you about messages from recruiters looking to hire you. And while this may seem flattering at first, it's not always welcome.

If you can unsubscribe from LinkedIn's many emails via your account, then you should. But if for any reason you can't get these emails to stop, or if you only want to block certain ones, here is another solution you can try:

  • Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the “Install” button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won’t take long. Open Gmail when it is done.
  • After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from LinkedIn.com, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.
  • Select the "Emails from this sender" option.

Selecting the "Emails from this sender" option works great to block all emails from that particular email address, but if you only want to block a few types of emails from LinkedIn, then you may want to consider creating phrase blocks or subject blocks instead.
