How to Stop Email Clutter from LinkedIn Groups

When you join a LinkedIn group, your chances of getting flooded with emails is very high. If you joined a lot of LinkedIn groups, your poor defenseless Gmail account is certainly going to suffer for it. Much of this is caused by the default settings you have in LinkedIn. You can always use the given steps to manually stop the emails about every discussion from every group you joined. But that’s a very long process depending on how many you joined.

If you have a difficult time unsubscribing from all of those group emails, use these simple steps to block the email you no longer want:

  • Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the “Install” button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won’t take long. Open Gmail when it is done.
  • After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from LinkedIn, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.
  • Select the "Emails from this sender" option.

This particular method will block the email address from sending you emails, which will likely block all LinkedIn group emails. If you only want to block emails from certain groups then we recommend creating a block for a certain phrase instead, which would allow you to only block specific emails from that address.
